Throwing Ourselves Into Summer

Helping Daddy wash Mommy's car.
Decided that her bike needed washed too.

Cool reflection.

Lots of playing at different parks since it hasn't been the best pool weather outside.

No idea what animal this is. Parrot? Chicken?

Finally!!! Expect lots more of these.

Princess Dance Camp was just too adorable. So much cuteness in one space I could hardly stand it. I was very proud of my girl.

Carefully choosing her end-of-class sucker.

Getting ready for final performance.

Can you guess what the favorite thing in her princess goody bag was at the end of camp?

And Then Came Summer

Thursday was my last day of school and Friday was Lily's. We can now go about the business of enjoying summer. First thing on my girl's agenda was the pool. Hard to explain to a three-year old that 74 degrees was too cold to go swimming. Laying out, yes. Swimming, not so much. What are the chances that my pool rat would be satisfied soaking up the rays while enjoying the ambience of the water? I'm thinking pretty low. So off we went to get some ice cream and play at the park instead.

Upcoming June events include birthday parties to which my little socialite has been invited, summer gymnastics, Princess Dance Camp, summer dog shows, trips to the zoo and other field trips galore, and last but certainly not least Operation Potty Train and Operation Big Girl Bed. Wish me luck.
Also, a big public thank you to Donna for giving my blog a facelift. She did a fantastic job! Thanks, Donna!

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

While her Mom and Dad did yardwork, you can see that my girl was having a good time. I, of course, had to grab the camera to get some shots. We still have 7 more days of school and she asks just about every day if we can go to the pool. Soon, baby girl, soon. In the meantime, we pulled the little blow-up pool out to tide her over until we can get to the real deal.

Also, stay tuned...... the fabulous Donna is giving my blog a facelift. I've seen the new header and it's awesome.

Chatting with Daddy who was taking a break.

The sand table is even more fun with the other side filled up with water.
I interrupt the cuteness that is my girl with a leaf shot. Playing with the macro setting on my camera, I got some pretty bokeh.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Party On!

The day was a success. The weather broke, the kids all seemed to have fun, and Lily had a blast. That's the most important thing, right? After everyone left and the dust settled I asked Lily if she had fun. "Yeah!" was her response. Then I asked if she liked her party. Her answer? "I love it!"

So there you have it.

And Then She Turned 3

Happy Birthday to my Best Girl!!! Even though the weather wasn't great, she still had fun. Nothing like a batch of pink cupcakes taken to school to share with your friends to brighten the day. With sprinkles to boot. Tomorrow is her party so the fun will continue.

Here she is all bright and shiny before school.

Not the best picture but I had to show what was on her shirt.

We took her out to dinner and here she is being sung to by the waiters. Kinda cheesy but she had fun.

We'll use this shot of her with her new lab coat and doctor's equipment at her graduation from med school party.

If you can't get outside, why not ride your new wagon around the house?

Now This Is the Kind of Day We've Been Waiting For

Spring has finally come to our house. I think the whole fam had cabin fever and we spent most of the day outside. The sand and water table came out from its long winter nap and my girl couldn't have been happier. New mamas, get your little ones one of these. It will keep them busy for HOURS. The park behind our house called my girl's name so we all ended up there, Jack and Winnie included. And with the wind, the weather couldn't have been more perfect for kite flying. So we did that too. A good day indeed.

When I saw him in my viewfinder I was taken aback by all the gray on his muzzle. When did Jack get old?

Grandma brought Lily this kite from her vacation to the Outer Banks last summer.

It flew so high it about got away from Daddy. He looked like he was reeling in a big swordfish or something. Nothing like bringing in a runaway kite with a toddler hanging over you.

Chillin' in the shade. Geez, even Winnie looks older here.

A Hippity Hoppity Easter All the Way

I could write a whole post on how much fun my girl had this Easter, but in the interest of time, since I have to go back to work tomorrow, I'll just direct you to the smile in the last photo. It says it all.
